Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions seeks an experienced GNC Engineer to support a leading aerospace and defense organization in Seal Beach, CA. This onsite role requires an active TS/SCI clearance and focuses on GN&C design, simulation, and testing for space, hypersonic, and autonomous systems.

Responsibilities include developing GN&C algorithms, high-fidelity 6-DOF simulations, and flight software using MATLAB/Simulink and C/C++.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant engineering experience in aircraft, spacecraft, missiles, autonomous platforms, hypersonic vehicles, or similar aerospace systems.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant STEM discipline; advanced education can offset some experience.
• Hands-on GN&C algorithm development (guidance, navigation, and/or control).
• MATLAB + Simulink expertise.
• 6-DOF modeling/simulation development with high-fidelity vehicle dynamics.
• Flight mechanics + control systems knowledge for aerospace vehicles.
• Software development in C/C++, Python, or C#.
• Active Tier 5 TS/SCI clearance.
• Willingness to work onsite in Seal Beach, CA.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and validate GN&C algorithms for spacecraft, hypersonic, and other aerospace vehicles.
• Develop and maintain high-fidelity 6-DOF simulations for dynamics and performance analysis.
• Develop GN&C flight software using MATLAB/Simulink and C/C++.
• Apply flight mechanics and control principles to trajectory design and guidance.
• Develop atmospheric/re-entry flight controls, navigation, autonomy, and guidance laws.
• Support integration, verification, flight testing, troubleshooting, and anomaly resolution.
• Create simulation artifacts, CONOPS, analysis products, and test procedures.
• Collaborate with systems, software, avionics, integration, and test teams.
