Job summary

SES Space & Defense in Stafford, VA, is seeking a Global NOSC Technician to monitor and maintain satellite communications networks in a 24/7/365 environment. You will troubleshoot remote user and hub connectivity, manage activations and restoration, and provide updates to customers during service interruptions.

The role requires 3–5 years in networking/IT or satellite telecom, familiarity with satellite equipment, and the ability to work an around-the-clock shift.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of technical experience in networking, IT, satellite telecommunications, or related field.
• Experience with satellite communications equipment, microwave/radio/antenna tracking/fiber optic systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot satellite and data communications remotely, over phone or email.
• Ability to work effectively in a 24/7/365 shift environment.
• Ability to prioritize, isolate problems, and restore communications to operational status.
• Public trust or DoD clearance suitability a plus.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and restore remote access problems, maintain reliable satellite communications, and resolve transmission issues.
• Help end users access satellite communications services.
• Isolate issues and restore service to customer networks.
• Achieve high rate of problem resolution at first contact.
• Provide real-time status on network traffic and communicate outages to customers.
• Coordinate with Senior Technician for escalated issues.
• Schedule vendor access for remote repairs and maintenance as required.
