Job summary

IDR, Inc. is seeking a GIS Technician to join a top client in Darien, GA. This onsite role focuses on maintaining roadway GIS datasets, delivering maps and reports to support infrastructure decisions.

The ideal candidate has a GIS-related bachelor’s degree (or near completion) and hands-on ArcGIS experience, including editing tools. You will work in a production environment with a focus on data quality and accuracy.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in GIS or related field or equivalent GIS training/experience.
Hands-on GIS experience in production/data maintenance workflows.
Proficiency with Esri ArcGIS (ArcGIS Desktop/10.x) or comparable.
Experience using ArcGIS editing tools to edit geospatial data (geometry/attributes).
Understanding of GIS principles including spatial geometry, attributes, & data quality/validation.

Responsibilities

Edit and maintain roadway GIS data using ArcGIS, including geometry & attribute updates.
Review imagery and existing GIS data to identify roadway changes (new/closed roads, reroutes, curbs, etc.).
Create, update, and correct GIS features using editing tools (shapefiles/geodatabases).
Query, validate, and troubleshoot GIS data to ensure accuracy and consistency.
Produce maps, reports, and GIS deliverables, using ArcGIS Online as needed.
