Job summary

The Tepa Companies, Fort Carson, is seeking a GIS Coordinator to support the Directorate of Public Works (DPW) GIS Department. You will maintain SDSFIE-compliant geospatial databases, process new data features, analyze spatial data with GIS tools, and produce mapping products for military and civilian customers.

Requirements include a degree in GIS or related field (or 5 years of relevant experience) and experience with CAD, US Army QAPs, field surveys, and EOC GIS support.

Qualifications

• Degree in GIS, Geography, Engineering, or related field, or 5 years of experience with no degree.
• 1+ year of experience in Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) technologies and industry-standard software.
• 1+ year of experience with US Army Quality Assurance Plans (QAP’s).
• 1+ year of experience with Field Survey data and collection methods.
• 1+ year of experience working with military and government personnel in a structured environment.
• Demonstrated experience with GIS support for the Emergency Operations Center (EOC).
• Proficiency with Attribution Editor. Demonstrated working knowledge of Python and KML.
• Strong team player with ability to adapt to a changing work environment.

Responsibilities

• Daily utilization of ArcPro 2.x / 3.x and ArcMap Extensions for mapping product production.
• Produce spatial data sets and mapping layers and provide analysis using Model Builder.
• Maintain SDSFIE 4.0 database structure and SDSFIE 4.0 business tables.
• Develop and modify automated map and KML production workflows.
• Engage customers to determine requirements, propose solutions, and assist with implementation.
• Provide GIS support for the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) and extended duty when needed.
• Learn new software, procedures, and workflows as required.
• Meet quality and performance standards.
