Job summary

The Tepa Companies, Fort Carson site, seeks a GIS Analyst to support mission-critical projects for government and private clients. You will create custom mapping products, maintain geospatial databases, and develop automated workflows using Esri tools.

Ideal candidates have a GIS degree or 3 years of experience, proficiency with ArcGIS and Python, and a track record in fast-paced environments. Onsite at Fort Carson, you will collaborate with customers and ensure data security and quality.

Qualifications

Degree in GIS, Geography, Engineering, or related field (or 3 years experience).
Proficient with Esri ArcGIS suite and ArcGIS Pro.
Experience with CAD technologies and field surveys.
Experience working in military/government environments.
Strong client interfacing under pressure.
Able to obtain/maintain access authorization for sensitive sites.

Responsibilities

About The Job

The Tepa Companies are seeking a GIS Analyst position to support a wide range of projects critical to the mission of internal and external clients. Responsibilities include the creation of custom mapping products based on client data specifications, maintaining, and updating geospatial mapping databases, spatial data analysis using a variety of GIS software and tools, and the development and execution of automated production workflows. This position is responsible for mission critical geospatial data development in an often fast-paced environment.

Job Functions

Daily utilization of ArcGIS Pro, ArcMap Suite 10.X, and ArcMap Extensions, such as Data Interoperability, Network Analyst, Publisher, and Data Reviewer, for the production of mapping products.
Produce spatial data sets and mapping layers and provide analysis utilizing Model Builder.
Support the maintenance of geospatial data in specified Spatial Data.
Create custom GIS scripts, tools, and applications for various data processing requirements.
Engage customers to determine requirements, propose solutions, and assist with implementation.
Develop and modify automated map and KML production workflows.
Gather GIS data in the field.
Meet quality and performance standards.

What We’re Looking For

Degree in GIS, Geography, Engineering, or related field, OR 3 years of experience with no degree
Experience in Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) technologies and industry-standard software
Experience with Field Survey collection methods
Experience working with military and government personnel in a structured environment
Thorough working knowledge of the Esri ArcGIS suite of products for the development of a wide variety of geospatial mapping products
Ability to display professionalism in interfacing with clients and customers under pressure
Demonstrated skills in database programming languages, such as Python and Keyhole Markup
Strong team player capable of adapting to a changing work environment
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with conflicting priorities and short deadlines
Outstanding attention to detail with good problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to exercise discretion and confidentiality when handling “For Official Use Only” data sets
Willingness to learn new software, procedures, and workflow processes
Must be able to obtain and maintain required authorization to access U.S. military installations and other client/project sites, as applicable to assigned work
