Job summary

Firebird AST is seeking an onsite Junior Forensic Accountant to support the Homeland Security Investigations’ FCU in Crystal City, VA. Some local travel will be required. Must be able to obtain a Public Trust (active Public Trust preferred).

Salary: 85K-90K plus benefits. Responsibilities include analyzing financial infrastructures of criminal networks, supporting investigations, and preparing professional reports and presentations for law enforcement use.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, criminal justice, or a related discipline.
• 1 year of relevant experience in forensic accounting or financial investigations is required.
• Must be able to obtain Public Trust clearance and travel CONUS/OCONUS.

Responsibilities

• Use financial forensic skills to analyze money movements of criminal organizations and professional money laundering infrastructure.
• Participate in strategic planning sessions with investigative groups and task forces.
• Assist in interviews during the course of financial investigations.
• Analyze financial transactions to identify all parties involved in criminal activity.
• Prepare Excel charts, reports, PowerPoint presentations, infographics for intelligence summaries.
