Job summary

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma (GED) and experience in QA, meat processing, or related fields; an associate degree is a plus. Strong data skills and communication are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; internal candidates with 4+ years may have educational waivers.
• Knowledge of QA principles, food science, meat processing, and USDA regulations.
• Ability to read/write in English and maintain technical documents and reports.
• Experience with monitoring equipment, data analysis, and regulatory inquiries.
• Proficiency with office software and following varied instruction formats.

Responsibilities

• Quality verification through inspections: process, metal detection, cooking, and chilling.
• Identify out-of-spec products and coordinate corrective actions with teams.
• Drive continuous improvement by addressing deficiencies and root causes.
• Develop and enforce HACCP programs; monitor critical control points.
• Ensure USDA regulatory compliance and maintain safety documentation.
• Train plant staff and support performance assessments.
• Communicate food safety issues and implement corrective actions.
