Job summary

Western Governors University is seeking an Instructor for the Learning Lab in Salt Lake City to guide nursing students through on-site clinical simulations and assessments. The role emphasizes evidence-based teaching, patient safety, and professional development within the WGU model.

The position requires an MSN, an active RN license, and NP certification is a plus. Experience with distance education and simulation-based education is preferred.

Qualifications

• MSN required; RN license in good standing; Nurse Practitioner certification preferred.
• Active and unencumbered NP license; 2+ years of professional experience.
• Experience with primary care procedures (suturing, skin biopsies, casting, splints, injections, women's health exams).
• Preference for distance education and simulation-based teaching experience.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate student learning and performance assessments in on-site Clinical Learning Labs.
• Demonstrate nursing skills and supervise high-fidelity simulations for student growth.
• Provide feedback, plan learning experiences, and guide clinical judgment development.
• Coordinate with Lab Faculty and maintain safe, effective lab operations.
