Job summary

Linde is seeking a Field Service Technician in Monroe, MI to ensure the safe, reliable operation of nitrogen-producing plants at customer sites. You will troubleshoot field issues and operate air separation plants with minimal supervision, while interacting with customers and maintaining safety, quality, and compliance across locations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma; Associate Degree in a technical field preferred; 2–5 years of operations experience in air separation or similar process control environments.
• Experience with instrumentation, controls, and maintenance of industrial equipment.
• Proficiency in mechanical and electrical maintenance, including compressors; military engineering experience is a plus.
• Strong safety awareness and procedural adherence while troubleshooting, diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing equipment.
• Ability to read and understand process control schematics and communicate technical information clearly.
• Proficiency with computers, Microsoft applications, and process control systems; strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to meet physical requirements: confined space entry, climbing, lifting up to 50 pounds, working at heights.
• Willingness to work extended hours; available for weekend, holiday, and call-in coverage.
• Familiarity with procurement processes and quality control analyzers; capable of driving service trucks and performing field work.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of nitrogen-producing plants at customer sites.
• Solve field site issues while maintaining and operating air separation plants with minimal supervision.
• Interact with customers across production plant types, providing guidance, support, and clear communication.
• Maintain safety, quality, and compliance activities at each plant location to uphold Linde’s standards.
• Perform routine maintenance and calibrations on compressors, gas analyzers, and control systems.
• Coordinate contractors and resources to support plant activities, audits, and administrative requirements; drive efficiency through planning and project management.
