Job summary

Farrior Steel Works is seeking a Field Project Superintendent to lead daily administrative and technical field management for assigned projects. You will supervise foremen and crews, coordinate with customers, and ensure safety, quality, and schedule adherence on site.

Responsibilities include reviewing plans, ordering materials, coordinating with subcontractors, and communicating project status to leadership and client teams.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate (GED) is required.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Mechanical Foreman is required.
• Strong mechanical, blueprint reading and mathematical skills.
• Good communication and multi-tasking abilities.
• Ability to interpret drawings, supervise subs and ensure safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Communicate project status with Customer, VP Operations, Estimator/PM, Foremen, and drafting.
• Possess working knowledge of project plans and specs.
• Ensure timely ordering of materials and supplies.
• Coordinate work with other tasks and subcontractors.
• Supervise foremen and employees; provide discipline and evaluate performance.
• Provide technical assistance, e.g., interpreting drawings and recommending methods/equipment.
• Review daily worksheets, time cards, and inspection logs for equipment.
• Coordinate with office staff on accounting, travel, and HR issues.
• Represent the company at project coordination meetings.
• Adjust manpower, customer requests, and site issues with leadership and HR as needed.
• Ensure compliance with procedures, safety rules and housekeeping on sites.
• Schedule tool/equipment needs with Equipment Manager and Toolroom Supervisor.
• Report maintenance needs for vehicles/equipment to Equipment Manager.
• Train foremen in construction methods, equipment operation, safety procedures, and company policies.
• Help develop and implement procedures and standards to improve projects.
