Job summary

MSTI in Oak Ridge, TN seeks a Construction Manager II to lead day-to-day field activities, coordinating between contractors, engineering, and project leadership while ensuring safety, compliance with plans, and site protocols.

The role requires strong organizational and communication skills to manage submittals, progress tracking, and site logistics, with a focus on safe, efficient execution across multiple stakeholders in a demanding environment.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• Experience supporting construction projects in industrial, commercial, government, or DOE environments preferred.
• Demonstrated commitment to construction safety and experience working within established safety programs and procedures.
• Familiarity with construction drawings, specifications, and submittal processes.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced field environment and coordinate across multiple stakeholders.
• U.S. Citizenship required.
• DOE Q clearance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Day to day field oversight.
• First line contact for contractor on daily issues.
• Collaborate with Safety to ensure safe practices on jobsite.
• Ensures communication between site and contractors.
• Monitor daily progress, plans & specs adherence.
• Monitors quality control.
• Monitors schedule and reports any issues.
• Generated daily reports and documentation, photos.
• Handles site logistics.
• Coordinates submittals and approvals with engineering.
• Coordinates site access and contractor site support needed.
• Acts as construction STR for contacts.
• Works with Construction Managers to ensure successful projects.
• Support overall construction needs.
• Required to work off shifts to support construction.
