Job summary

MSTI in Oak Ridge, TN is seeking an Industrial Safety Specialist to administer the Industrial Safety Program under direct supervision, guiding plant personnel and contractors to ensure compliance.

The role requires a DOE Q clearance, an associate degree in Safety or related field, and at least five years of safety experience in construction. The position offers a comprehensive benefits package and onsite work.

Qualifications

• Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q clearance.
• Associates degree or equivalent experience in safety.
• 5 years of Safety and Health experience, preferably in construction.
• CSP certification or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Establishes and maintains relationships to identify, evaluate and control hazards.
• Performs Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) to ensure controls are in place.
• Attends daily pre-job brief for construction activities.
• Maintains communications with site management and contractors for safety coverage.
• Assists with inspections and evaluation of planned work, facilities, equipment, and materials.
• Applies state and federal regulations in day-to-day oversight.
• Responsible for site safety compliance with stop-work authority.
• Participates in projects as assigned.
