Job summary

GP Strategies Government Solutions is seeking an experienced Government Contract Accountant in Anniston, AL to support financial management for a large federal contract. You will monitor expenditures, prepare reports, and ensure compliance with FAR/CAS and contract requirements.

The role requires five years of government contracting accounting experience, strong Excel skills, and ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams. Onsite work with relocation support for qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• Minimum of five years of government contracting accounting experience.
• Experience with federal government contracts accounting and cost analysis.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Proficiency with project accounting systems and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Perform accounting and financial analysis in support of government contract operations.
• Monitor expenditures, budgets, and financial performance against objectives.
• Prepare and maintain financial records, reports, reconciliations, and docs.
• Assist with budget development, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
• Review labor, indirect rates, project costs and other financial data.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting requirements.
• Ensure compliance with government regulations, contract requirements, and policies.
• Assist with audits, reviews, and contract compliance activities.
• Track and reconcile project costs and expenditures.
• Coordinate with program management, contracts, finance and ops teams.
