Job summary

UNFI is seeking a General Maintenance Associate in Urbana, IL to perform repairs and preventative maintenance across facility equipment and vehicles. The role involves light mechanical work, winter snow removal duties, and coordinating with other departments to ensure proper operation.

The position is onsite with a schedule of Sunday to Thursday, 7:00am–3:30pm, and offers benefits after 30 days, including medical/dental/vision, PTO, and a 401K match. Starting pay is $22.25 per hour.

Qualifications

• Current Driver’s License.
• General mechanical knowledge and experience with hand power tools.
• Basic electrical knowledge and use of a multimeter.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Repair and preventative maintenance on building equipment (furnaces, A/C, ventilation, dock plates, power doors, sprinklers, refrigeration, etc.).
• Light mechanical duties and general upkeep.
• Scoop snow, plow snow and salt walks in winter.
• Collaborate with other departments to address maintenance needs.
• Maintain stock and order supplies/parts as needed.
