Job summary

Brunswick Corporation’s Mercury Marine in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin is seeking a Facilities Engineering Intern to support facility engineering, HVAC upgrades, electrical power distribution, and energy management across manufacturing and office facilities.

You will assist with project planning, data analysis, contractor coordination, and building system optimization while gaining hands-on experience in a dynamic manufacturing environment during the May–December 2027 internship.

Qualifications

• Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Interest in facility engineering, building systems, energy management, and infrastructure projects.
• Availability to work full-time (40 or more hours per week) during May through December 2027.

Responsibilities

• Support HVAC improvement projects including equipment assessments, system upgrades, performance monitoring, and energy efficiency initiatives.
• Assist with electrical infrastructure projects involving power distribution systems, lighting upgrades, backup power systems, and facility modernization efforts.
• Collect, analyze, and report on utility consumption, energy performance, and sustainability metrics to support operational and environmental goals.
• Assist with planning, tracking, and documentation of facility capital improvement projects.
• Coordinate with contractors, consultants, vendors, and internal stakeholders to support project execution and completion.
• Participate in facility assessments, operational audits, and building system evaluations.
• Maintain facility drawings, equipment records, project documentation, and engineering data.
• Support environmental, health, safety, and regulatory compliance initiatives related to facility systems and infrastructure.
• Assist with workplace and facility improvement initiatives that enhance productivity, efficiency, and employee experience.
• Perform other special projects and duties as assigned.
