Job summary

Brunswick Corporation's Mercury Marine in Fond du Lac, WI invites a Materials Engineering Intern to help evaluate materials, components and manufacturing processes used in marine engines, with hands‑on lab exposure and collaboration with engineers and technicians.

You will operate lab equipment (SEM, XRD, spectrometers, microhardness tester), prepare samples, and document results to support product quality and manufacturing decisions.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a materials-related bachelor’s degree program (materials science/engineering, metallurgical, polymer or relatedMechanical Engineering Technology with materials emphasis).
• Available to work full-time (40+ hours/week) during May–August 2027.
• Minimum second‑semester sophomore with at least 48 completed credits.
• Completed two semesters of classroom laboratory experience in the major.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and maintain organized data.
• Hands-on willingness to process test samples using standard lab equipment.
• Efficient and effective technical communication skills.

Responsibilities
