Job summary

Triumvirate Environmental is seeking an Environmental Specialist for the Lab & Onsite Support Services (Lab/OSS) team. The role focuses on supporting clients on-site by managing hazardous waste programs and projects in compliance with state and federal regulations.

The position is on-site at client locations in the NYC area, reporting to the Operations Manager from the Astoria, NY office. Typical responsibilities include waste preparation, regulatory documentation, inspections, audits, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in hazardous-waste industry or relevant military experience.
• Must be able to work as part of a team or independently.
• Strong verbal and written communication to interact with clients and stakeholders.
• Ability to analyze complex issues, develop solutions, and implement strategies.
• Willingness to obtain CDL and work overtime/flexible hours.
• Must be able to report to the Astoria office within 1 hour during Emergency Response shifts.

Responsibilities

• Develop understanding of OSHA regulations and Triumvirate’s Health and Safety practices.
• Prepare chemical and biological waste for shipment and disposal, including federal/state documents.
• Safely handle hazardous waste containers on client sites and load/unload waste from vehicles.
• Conduct safety equipment and hazardous waste inspections.
• Occasionally perform and document EHS audits for clients.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and innovative solutions to clients.
• Develop regulatory expertise to meet client compliance needs (RCRA, DOT, OSHA).
• Conduct spill response assessments and cleanup efforts.
• Rotating on-call responsibilities as part of Emergency Response team.
