Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Laboratory Technician for its onsite Vandergrift, PA laboratory to support USACE SLDA/FUSRAP work. You will perform soil prep, wet chemistry analysis (UV-Vis/colorimetry), and isotopic separations, with data review and report preparation. On-site work and BeLPT clearance are required.

The role emphasizes strict safety, chain-of-custody procedures, and maintenance of lab instrumentation. U.S. citizenship or permanent residency is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or a bachelor’s degree in physics, chemistry or related sciences.
• Experience with soil sample preparation and wet chemistry analysis.
• Ability to review data files and provide data to users.
• Ability to perform alpha, gamma and gross alpha/beta counting.
• Capable of isotopic chemical separation procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform chain-of-custody sample receipt and logging in LIMS.
• Prepare soil and preserve/add aliquots to water samples before analysis.
• Perform digestions and chemical separations per SOP.
• Maintain a clean laboratory area and follow decontamination procedures.
• Prepare reagents and support data analysis and reporting.
• Follow radiation and chemical safety procedures in all lab areas.
