Job summary

AeroVironment is seeking an Embedded Cybersecurity Engineer II to strengthen security for embedded systems across its product lines. The role collaborates with R&D and Operations to apply security controls and support lifecycle activities, ensuring compliance with contract and regulatory requirements.

The candidate will coordinate with engineering teams to identify security needs, perform vulnerability assessments, and deliver security-related artifacts for regulators and customers.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in cybersecurity and embedded hardware.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with security controls across development lifecycle.
• Familiarity with ISO 27001 and NIST cybersecurity standards.
• Experience with hardware security and cryptographic concepts.
• Ability to work with little supervision and deliver technical presentations.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product R&D to implement security controls aligned to product needs.
• Coordinate with hardware engineering to embed security into designs.
• Support embedded system architects to ensure security controls align with design.
• Ensure consistent embedded system security practices across projects.
• Identify security vulnerabilities and weaknesses in system design and architecture.
• Contribute to tools, processes, and policies to prevent and resolve issues across the lifecycle.
