Job summary

Silvus Technologies, a leading provider of MANET and MIMO systems, seeks a Hardware Component Engineer - Electrical to lead component selection, qualification, and lifecycle management for product development and sustainment.

This 100% onsite role reports to the Director of Hardware Engineering Operations and collaborates with design, mechanical, and manufacturing teams at our West Los Angeles, CA HQ.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of electronic components (FPGA, Processor, FEM, RF).
• Familiarity with PLM systems and DFMEA/PPAP processes.

Responsibilities

• Select, qualify, and release electronic and electromechanical components, including connectors, cables, and related hardware.
• Review and approve component specifications, datasheets, and drawings for new product introductions (NPI).
• Partner with design, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to ensure proper component integration and compatibility.
• Evaluate alternate and second-source components to mitigate supply chain risks.
• Monitor component lifecycle (PCN/EOL/obsolescence) and drive proactive mitigation plans.
• Support failure analysis, root cause investigation, and corrective actions for component-related issues.
• Ensure components meet regulatory, environmental, and reliability requirements (e.g., RoHS, REACH).
• Maintain and improve component databases, part numbering, and documentation standards.
• Work with suppliers, manufacturing and quality teams to resolve technical and quality concerns.
