Job summary

Silvus Technologies is seeking a Hardware Component Engineer - Electrical to own component selection, qualification, and lifecycle management for support of product development and sustainment. This 100% onsite role reports to the Director of Hardware Engineering Operations at the West Los Angeles HQ.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering with 3–5 years in component engineering or hardware development, and has strong knowledge of FPGA, RF, connectors, and PCBA

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years of component engineering, hardware development, or related experience.
• Knowledge of electronic components (FPGA, Processor, FEM, RF) and mechanical components (connectors, harnesses, enclosures).
• Experience interpreting datasheets, drawings, and industry standards; familiarity with PLM, DFMEA/PPAP, and component databases.

Responsibilities

• Select, qualify, and release electronic and electromechanical components, including connectors, cables, and related hardware.
• Review and approve component specifications, datasheets, and drawings for new product introductions (NPI).
• Partner with design, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to ensure proper component integration and compatibility.
• Evaluate alternate and second-source components to mitigate supply chain risks.
• Monitor component lifecycle (PCN/EOL/obsolescence) and drive proactive mitigation plans.
• Support failure analysis, root cause investigation, and corrective actions for component-related issues.
• Ensure components meet regulatory, environmental, and reliability requirements (e.g., RoHS, REACH).
• Maintain and improve component databases, part numbering, and documentation standards.
• Work with suppliers, manufacturing and quality teams to resolve technical and quality concerns.
