Job summary

Brown and Root Industrial Services in Geismar, LA is seeking an experienced Electrical Designer to develop and design electrical systems for buildings, including switchgear, relay protection, MCCs, VFDs, lighting, grounding, and power distribution.

You will produce block diagrams, loop sheets, wiring diagrams, panel layouts and conduit/cable routing drawings, using 2D and 3D design tools, with safety as a priority; onsite in-facility work and occasional extended hours.

Qualifications

• A.A.S. or technical drafting certification is preferred.
• 7+ years in design, electrical and instrumentation.
• EPC experience preferred including onsite assignments.
• Low and medium voltage knowledge.
• Field walk-down trips required; able to lift up to 25 lbs.
• Extended hours and some weekend work may be required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and design electrical (primary function): layouts, one-lines, electrical systems, switchgear, relay protection, MCCs, VFDs, lighting, grounding, power distribution.
• Fully design electrical systems for buildings.
• Design instrumentation systems and field instrumentation.
• Develop block diagrams, loop sheets, wiring diagrams, panel layouts and conduit/cable routing drawings.
• Utilize 2D and 3D design tools; prioritize safety.
