Job summary

The Ian Martin Group is seeking an Electrical Controls Technician in Robesonia, PA. The role focuses on developing foundational knowledge while maintaining electrical and control systems across pipeline facilities, ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable operation of station equipment.

You will work with a collaborative, safety-focused team to monitor and service switchgear, motors, generators, pumps, and fans, and support PLCs/HMIs and related control networks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Two years of directly relevant training and experience.
• Strong technical and analytical skills gained through education, training, and/or work experience.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to assist with complex equipment, procedures, and technical tasks.
• Ability to work independently while adhering to safety policies and procedures.
• Proficiency with standard Microsoft Office and business software applications.
• Strong teamwork skills with integrity and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, inspect, and maintain electrical systems and equipment, including switchgear, motors, generators, pumps, and fans.
• Maintain DC systems such as batteries, chargers, rectifiers, and inverters for continuous power supply.
• Support maintenance of PLCs, HMIs, control networks, and field devices like sensors and actuators.
• Maintain and test safety systems including ESD panels and gas/flame detectors.
• Perform station maintenance activities and daily inspections, documentation, and reporting.
• Provide daily oversight and weekend/extended operational support as needed.
• Recognize abnormal conditions and complete accurate documentation per requirements.
• Work collaboratively and guide contractors or junior staff when needed.
• Follow SOPs and O&M procedures; contribute to planning and budgeting.
