Job summary

Actalent is seeking a BIM Specialist Electrical for a data center project in Saline, MI. This onsite role focuses on transforming electrical designs into accurate 3D Revit models and coordinated construction documents, coordinating with multiple trades to ensure constructibility before installation.

You will work in a fast-paced environment, building and updating models, performing clash detection with Navisworks, and maintaining BIM standards to meet LOD 300-400 requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of BIM, electrical design and drafting, or construction coordination.
• Strong proficiency with Autodesk Revit, including Revit MEP, for electrical 3D modeling and documentation.
• Hands-on experience with electrical systems in a construction or design environment.
• Proven ability to produce or work from electrical construction and shop drawings.
• Solid understanding of construction coordination and constructability in MEP environments.
• Experience using Navisworks for clash detection and multidisciplinary coordination.
• Ability to model and coordinate low voltage and extra-low voltage systems.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced project setting with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Build, develop, and update detailed electrical 3D models in Revit for a data center project.
• Model electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, low voltage, and extra-low voltage systems.
• Use Navisworks to perform clash detection between electrical systems and other trades, identifying and helping resolve coordination issues.
• Coordinate electrical layouts with mechanical, plumbing, structural, and architectural teams to ensure all systems fit within the building prior to installation.
• Create and revise construction drawings, shop drawings, plans, sections, and details based on project needs and model updates.
• Incorporate redlines, RFIs, field markups, and design changes into the electrical models and associated documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
• Ensure models are constructible and practical from a field installation standpoint, not just correct from a design perspective.
• Work within established BIM standards and meet LOD 300400 requirements for model detail and documentation.
• Collaborate with project stakeholders in an onsite environment to support coordination meetings and resolve modeling issues.
• Support continuous improvement of BIM processes and standards within the project team.
