Job summary

CoWorx is seeking an EHS Specialist for a leading CT manufacturer. This on-site, first-shift role supports Environmental Health and Safety programs and ensures compliance with internal policies and procedures promoting a safe workplace.

Based in Thomaston, CT, you will partner with site management and the EHS Manager to administer regulatory reporting, maintain records, deliver training, and drive continuous improvement across the facility.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in life sciences, environmental health and safety, environmental science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues and recommend solutions.
• Good verbal and written communication skills, along with strong interpersonal abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Project.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and effectively prioritize tasks to meet established deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative support to EHS teams, including filing, reporting, and database maintenance.
• Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to gather information, coordinate activities, and provide updates as needed.
• Manage and support all required state and federal environmental, health, and safety reporting activities.
• Assist with the maintenance and administration of EHS regulatory information management systems.
• Schedule meetings, prepare agendas, and record and distribute meeting minutes.
• Support compliance with EHS policies, procedures, regulations, and company standards.
• Participate in facility inspections, assessments, and surveys to identify potential safety and environmental hazards.
• Assist in the investigation of accidents, injuries, and near-miss incidents, including documentation and reporting requirements.
• Maintain EHS records and files, including safety reports, permits, audits, and regulatory documentation.
• Collect, analyze, and report data related to EHS performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Assist with the development, coordination, and delivery of EHS training programs.
• Support the administration and continuous improvement of environmental, health, and safety programs across the facility.
• Perform data entry, reporting, and analysis related to facility operations, compliance, and performance metrics.
• Maintain regular attendance and work overtime as required to support business needs.
• Adhere to all company safety policies, procedures, and standards.
