Job summary

Akkodis is seeking an EHS Specialist for a contract role in Bohemia, NY (Onsite). Ideal candidates have 1–3 years of EHS experience, mandatory LOTO experience, and background in safety risk assessments, environmental waste compliance, and root cause investigation in a manufacturing setting.

The position offers a pay range of $37–$40 per hour, with compensation negotiable by experience and location. Responsibilities include maintaining permits, regulatory compliance, audits, and developing EHS

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience in EHS preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with EPA and local environmental regulations.
• Experience in training.
• Excellent oral and written communication, presentation, and training skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure permits are current and files are up to date with regulatory bodies.
• Monitor and report to ensure compliance with hazardous waste requirements.
• Review new processes, products, and chemicals for environmental compliance and risk reduction.
• Align internal policy/procedure to changes in existing regulation.
• Support external/internal audits and inspections and follow up of corrective actions.
• Create and implement EHS training.
• Inspect workplace with employees from other functions to identify hazards and take corrective actions.
• Investigate incidents and ensure reports are prepared and maintained per procedures and gov regulations.
• Support emergency procedure implementation and ensure teams are prepared for incidents.
• Ensure corrective actions for hazards exist.
