Job summary

Actalent is seeking an EHS Specialist to coordinate assigned EHS activities in Saint Paul, MN, reporting to the EHS Manager. Responsibilities include regulatory compliance, program development, training delivery, and documentation to support operations and the EHS team.

You will conduct inspections, assist with audits, participate in incident investigations, and help implement corrective actions. Strong communication and MS Office skills are essential, with certified training a plus.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in EHS, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering or related field;Bachelor's degree preferred (equivalent experience may be considered).
• 13+ years of EHS experience, preferably in manufacturing or industrial settings.
• OSHA knowledge; basic environmental compliance; EPA familiarity is a plus.
• Experience with site inspections, incident investigations, root-cause analysis, risk assessments, and corrective-action tracking (5 Whys a plus).
• Ability to present EHS information to small groups, lead trainings, and explain procedures clearly.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and EHS software; recordkeeping and reporting ability.
• Relevant EHS certifications or training are a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate EHS activities in support of Operations and EHS team; track actions, timelines, and barriers.
• Conduct site inspections and support audits, document hazards, and track corrective actions.
• Participate in incident and near-miss investigations and help identify root causes and corrective actions.
• Prepare and update EHS documents, including safety data sheets, lockout/tagout procedures, and equipment safety instructions.
• Maintain chemical inventories and SDS databases; request SDSs from suppliers.
• Develop or update site-specific EHS procedures and training materials.
• Develop and deliver EHS trainings, including onboarding and site-specific classes.
• Support safety committee meetings and ergonomic improvement activities.
• Maintain EHS records and contribute to safety and environmental data reporting.
• Communicate inspection findings, status of investigations, and project progress to the EHS Manager.
• Enforce EHS policies and regulatory requirements.
