Job summary

Legrand AV, Inc. in West Hartford, CT, seeks a Safety Manager to lead and advance Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) initiatives at the facility.

You will partner with operations, engineering, maintenance, HR, and leadership to cultivate an injury-free culture while ensuring regulatory compliance with OSHA, EPA, and CT DEEP. The role is onsite, driving continuous improvement in EHS performance across the manufacturing operation and coordinating with corporate EHS leadership on company

Qualifications

• Requires OSHA knowledge and manufacturing safety practices.
• Experience conducting incident investigations, risk assessments, and hazard analyses.
• Experience developing and delivering employee safety training programs.

Responsibilities

• Lead and continuously improve the site's Environmental, Health, and Safety programs to achieve world-class safety performance.
• Ensure compliance with Legrand Safety and Environmental Must Haves and drive safety regulation efforts to meet CSR targets.
• Develop, implement, and maintain site-specific EHS policies, procedures, standards, and management systems.
• Conduct routine safety inspections, environmental audits, risk assessments, hazard evaluations, and JSAs.
• Lead investigations of injuries, environmental incidents, and unsafe conditions; implement corrective actions.
• Establish and monitor EHS performance metrics and communicate trends to plant leadership.
• Deliver EHS training programs for employees, supervisors, managers, contractors, and new hires.
• Oversee environmental compliance programs including hazardous waste, air emissions, stormwater, wastewater, spills, and permits.
• Submit required environmental and safety reports, permits, logs, and regulatory filings.
