Job summary

Pratt & Whitney is seeking an experienced EH&S Specialist to support environmental compliance at the Middletown, CT manufacturing site. You will lead hazardous and non-hazardous waste programs, chemical management and regulatory reporting, partnering with operations, facilities and leadership to drive responsible environmental stewardship.

The role combines regulatory compliance, field engagement, data analysis and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years in environmental compliance.
• License or commitment to obtain CT DPH WTP Operator/DS Class I within 12–18 months.
• Experience managing compliance programs under RCRA, EPCRA, TSCA and CT regs.
• Hands-on hazardous waste characterization, waste profiling, accumulation and disposal vendor management.
• Experience preparing regulatory reports and maintaining compliance records (EPA RCRA Info/e-Manifest, EPA CDX).

Responsibilities

• Oversee waste compliance program with policy management, reporting, labeling and inspections.
• Manage chemical reporting (EPCRA/TSCA/TRI) and other environmental programs (Air/Water) as needed.
• Represent programs in Management of Change processes to minimize risks.
• Develop strategies to minimize regulatory risks and conduct internal inspections/audits.
• Prepare regulatory reports for submittal to agencies with proper recordkeeping.
• Provide shop-floor EH&S support and interact with operators and facilities teams.
• Address potential hazards through in-person EH&S program support and prompt management communication.
• Be on-call 24 hours for spills/incidents (HAZWOPER not required, but preferred).
• Assist audits and collaborate on other EH&S assignments.
