Job summary

Bucks IU is seeking a part-time Direct Support Professional to provide on-site support to adults with disabilities in employment and community settings.

Under supervision, you will help participants develop skills for employment, adapt environments, and document progress. This role is on-site with no remote work. Eligible candidates have a high school diploma and some related experience; background checks required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• 2+ years direct work experience with persons with disabilities.
• ODP orientation course completed.
• CRE training for supported employment within first 6 months of hire.
• Continued education requirements of at least 24 hours per week.
• Able to pass Motor Vehicle background check.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site employment or community access support to assist the individual in performing work duties/community goals.
• Provide accommodations and adaptations to work sites to facilitate client independence.
• Maintain accurate data regarding individual progress toward goals (hours worked, performance on job).
• Apply effective communication to build rapport and adapt to participant communication styles.
• Identify opportunities by assessing client preferences, skills, aptitudes, and strengths.
