Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Construction Superintendent to lead on-site construction activities at a federal installation in the Charleston area (Hanahan, SC). You will manage subcontractors, coordinate with the Project Manager, ensure safety and quality, and maintain project documentation for multiple projects.

The role requires 5–10 years of federal or commercial construction experience, strong communication skills, and familiarity with project controls and MS Office tools.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of Federal Government or Commercial Construction experience.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience managing multiple construction projects with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate on-site construction activities and lead subcontractors.
• Plan manpower, materials, and equipment with Project Manager.
• Communicate with Government Contracting Official/Owner and provide updates.
• Direct and supervise subcontractors to meet contract documents and standards.
• Enforce safety rules and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Monitor quality and security on site to meet federal/commercial standards.
• Track construction schedule and meet milestones.
• Support budget by monitoring costs for labor, materials, and equipment.
• Identify disruptions and implement proactive solutions.
• Collaborate with project team to manage multiple projects efficiently.
• Maintain knowledge of trades to assess work quality and resolve issues.
• Document project activities using Word/Outlook/Project/Excel/Acrobat.
• Prepare reports, logs, and records for quality, safety, and progress.
• Communicate clearly with internal teams, clients, and government reps.
• Demonstrate leadership and set performance expectations on site.
