Job summary

Sheakley Workforce Staffing in Charleston, SC seeks a Construction Safety Manager to lead on-site safety for a large aerospace-related project. You will oversee daily safety activities for mechanical piping, HVAC, and fire protection, ensuring OSHA compliance and a proactive safety culture on a 60-hour work week.

The role requires OSHA 30 Construction Certification and at least 5 years of construction safety experience, with preference for fire protection and large-scale commercial construction

Qualifications

• OSHA 30 Construction Certification.
• Minimum 5 years of construction safety experience.
• Mechanical construction safety experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily safety activities for mechanical and fire protection construction operations.
• Maintain a visible field presence alongside craft personnel and project supervision.
• Conduct routine site inspections, safety observations, and risk assessments.
• Monitor mechanical piping, HVAC, fire protection, and equipment installation activities.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and project safety requirements.
• Provide field coaching and mentorship to supervisors and craft personnel.
• Deliver toolbox talks and support ongoing safety training initiatives.
• Review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), permits, and pre-task plans.
• Lead incident investigations and corrective action implementation.
• Maintain safety reports, inspections, observations, and compliance documentation.
• Partner with project leadership to proactively identify and mitigate hazards.
• Promote a positive safety culture across the project.
