Sheakley Workforce Staffing is seeking a Construction Safety Manager for a 6+ month 1099 contract in Charleston, SC. You will lead safety programs for mechanical piping, HVAC, and fire protection on a large aerospace construction project, ensuring OSHA compliance and a proactive safety culture.

The role requires OSHA 30, a minimum of five years in construction safety, and experience with mechanical construction safety.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily safety activities for mechanical and fire protection construction operations
• Maintain a visible field presence alongside craft personnel and project supervision
• Conduct routine site inspections, safety observations, and risk assessments
• Monitor mechanical piping, HVAC, fire protection, and equipment installation activities
• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and project safety requirements
• Provide field coaching and mentorship to supervisors and craft personnel
• Deliver toolbox talks and support ongoing safety training initiatives
• Review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), permits, and pre-task plans
• Lead incident investigations and corrective action implementation
• Maintain safety reports, inspections, observations, and compliance documentation
• Partner with project leadership to proactively identify and mitigate hazards
• Promote a positive safety culture across the project

Construction Safety Manager

Location: Charleston, SC

Duration: 6+ Months (Immediate Need)

Type: 1099 Contractor

Compensation & Schedule

Pay Rate: $45/hr

Per Diem: $125/Day

Completion Bonus: $150/month

Pay Frequency: Weekly

Schedule: Monday-Saturday | 60 Hours Per Week (6x10s) | 1st Shift

The Construction Safety Manager will partner closely with project leadership, field supervision, and craft personnel to maintain OSHA compliance while promoting a proactive safety culture throughout all phases of construction.

Required Qualifications

• OSHA 30 Construction Certification
• Minimum 5 years of construction safety experience
• Mechanical construction safety experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Fire protection construction experience
• Aerospace, aviation, or aircraft hangar construction experience
• Industrial or manufacturing construction experience
• Experience supporting large-scale commercial construction projects
• CHST, ASP, CSP, or other BCSP credential
