Job summary

Prime Electric is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead and oversee the execution of increasingly complex small to medium-scale electrical construction projects. You will operate with minimal supervision, directing project planning, management, and execution to achieve customer satisfaction and favorable financial outcomes.

You will be responsible for driving project lifecycle management, budgeting, scheduling, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field, with 7–10 years of electrical project management experience or equivalent
• Strong understanding of construction cost, scheduling, estimating, engineering principles, and accounting practices
• Proficiency in electrical estimating, including change orders and evaluating estimates
• Experience with project management tools; familiarity with Accubid estimating systems preferred
• Knowledge of integrated job cost systems, budgeting, and final costing
• Ability to build critical path schedules and understand construction sequencing across disciplines
• Experience with design-build delivery models is highly preferred
• Ability to evaluate final cost at completion and negotiate change orders with customers
• Demonstrated leadership in managing people and teams
• Excellent communication, leadership, problem solving and analytical skills

Responsibilities

• Collaborate on work procurement and identify new project opportunities
• Lead the full project lifecycle from initiation to closure, ensuring safety, budget adherence, quality, and timely delivery
• Oversee project financial activities (SOV, invoicing, collections) and define scope, goals, deliverables, resources, budget, and timeline
• Communicate clear expectations to team members and stakeholders, mediating as needed
• Proactively resolve issues throughout the project life cycle
• Manage scope and approvals for changes via change orders
• Work closely with field leadership
• Lead, coach, and motivate project team members to high performance
• Adhere to safety programs and lead project safety efforts on site
• Maintain a physical presence onsite, visiting jobsites to oversee progress
• Performs other duties as assigned
