Qualifications

• Minimum 6+ years of construction industry experience, preferably in Assistant Project Manager, Construction Manager, Project Engineer, Field Engineer, Assistant Superintendent, Field Manager, or similar roles on commercial, educational, institutional, or other complex building projects.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, Bluebeam, Kahua, PlanGrid, Procore, or similar construction/project management platforms.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, architecture, or related discipline is desired but not required where equivalent construction experience is demonstrated.
• Ability to independently monitor field conditions, recognize potential cost, schedule, quality, and coordination issues, and promptly communicate those issues to project leadership, while maintaining a consistent field presence and handling administrative/project controls.
• Demonstrated experience supporting day-to-day management and field administration of construction projects, with strong knowledge of construction means and methods and the ability to coordinate with contractors, design professionals, inspectors, Owners while reading/interpreting drawings, specs, contracts, submittals, RFIs, change docs.

Responsibilities

• Support the Project Manager with day-to-day management, coordination, administration, and field oversight of the project from construction through closeout, ensuring work is safe, on schedule, within budget, and contract compliant.
• Coordinate with Owner, design consultants, contractors, subcontractors, governing agencies, testing/inspection bodies, vendors, and other stakeholders to maintain communication and timely issue resolution.
• Maintain on-site presence and monitor construction activities for compliance with drawings, specs, approved submittals, contract requirements, quality standards, and testing requirements.
• Review contract documents and field conditions to identify conflicts, incomplete work, constructability/coordinator concerns, and risks affecting cost/schedule/quality.
• Support project administration by managing RFIs, submittals, change requests, meeting minutes, action logs, correspondence, field directives, contractor documentation, and other controls.
• Participate in project/ progress/pre-construction/pre-installation/coordination meetings and follow up to resolve outstanding issues and decisions.
• Monitor contractor performance and construction progress, including manpower, sequencing, deliveries, inspections, milestones, and communicate delays/deficiencies/risks to the Project Manager.
• Review CPM schedule, document key dates, assess schedule impacts, and assist with cost/change management (PIs, CORs, proposals, T&M work).
• Assist with monthly Applications for Payment, inspections, and deficiency tracking; coordinate with authorities/third-party agencies.
• Maintain detailed daily reports and photos of construction activities, field conditions, safety observations, quality issues, delays, milestones; support punch-lists, commissioning, owner training, closeout.
