Job summary

Global Power Components is seeking an Assistant Construction Project Manager to serve as the onsite representative for active construction projects. This role involves monitoring progress, coordinating contractors, documenting issues, and ensuring safety and schedule adherence across company facilities.

The ideal candidate will have 2+ years in construction coordination, strong reading of drawings, and proven independent decision-making abilities.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of construction, facilities, or project coordination experience.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and blueprints.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and make informed decisions in the field.
• Experience coordinating contractors, vendors, or tradespeople.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel regularly between Milwaukee-area locations.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the onsite company representative during construction activities.
• Monitor daily project activities and contractor performance.
• Ensure work is progressing according to project schedules and plans.
• Conduct routine site walkthroughs and document project progress.
• Verify work quality and identify deficiencies requiring correction.
• Coordinate access, logistics, and communication between contractors and facility personnel.
• Escalate schedule delays, safety concerns, quality issues, and budget impacts to the Construction Project Manager.
• Assist with project scheduling, documentation, reporting, and contractor coordination.
• Review drawings, plans, and specifications to ensure project requirements are being followed.
• Support project meetings, punch list activities, and project closeout efforts.
• Maintain accurate project records, photographs, and progress reports.
• Promote and enforce safe work practices on all job sites.
