Gasperec Elberts Consulting, LLC (GEC) invites applications for a Construction Resident Engineer to support our Construction Group in Illinois. You will serve as the client's on-site representative and lead field administration on highway and bridge projects for IDOT, Tollway, and local agencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) License required.
• Six or more years of resident engineering or construction management experience on transportation projects.
• Ability to make decisions based on ethics and engineering judgement.
• Ability to communicate with courtesy and tact; able to lead field staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the construction inspection team and field staff.
• Act as the client's authorized on-site representative for contract administration.
• Interpret and enforce contract plans, specifications, permits and regulatory requirements.
• Administer construction contracts using project management software.
