Job summary

RTCA seeks a skilled CNC Machinist to perform Mill/Lathe/Swiss setups, optimize tooling, and run programs to meet engineering specs. You will interpret complex drawings, use precision gauges, and contribute to lean manufacturing initiatives onsite in Chatsworth, CA.

The role emphasizes mentorship of junior machinists and collaboration with Quality and Engineering teams. This full-time, on-site position offers a $3.00 shift differential and opportunities to advance as you tackle increasingly

Qualifications

• Experience performing CNC setups on 3-, 4-, and 5-axis multi-axis equipment.
• Ability to read blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T requirements.
• Experience with precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, indicators, height gauges).
• Strong machining fundamentals, tooling, feeds, speeds, and offsets.
• Troubleshoot complex machining issues and optimize machining strategies.

Responsibilities

• Perform CNC setups and first-run setups across multiple machines.
• Select tooling, load programs, and support workholding and setup activities.
• Read blueprints and ensure parts meet specifications and quality docs.
• Collaborate with Engineering on tooling improvements and new products.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
• Provide guidance to less experienced machinists and operators.
