Job summary

Regal Rexnord Corp is seeking a CNC spherical grinding machinist onsite in Simi Valley to produce parts per drawings and planning specs. You will set up and run grinding operations, ensure first article acceptance, and document in-process quality data.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years on CNC spherical grinding, expertise with inspection tools, tight tolerances (.0003 inch), and ability to read blueprints. Willingness to stand long periods and lift 25 lbs is required.

Qualifications

• I.D. or O.D. Grind machinist to meet drawings and planning specs.
• 3–5 years’ experience setting up CNC spherical grinding equipment.
• Skilled with indicator, gage, dial bores and plate inspection methods.
• Maintain close tolerances (.0003") on IDs and profiles.
• Understand machine tool accuracies and tool offsets.
• Know cutting wheel feeds, speeds and wheel life for aerospace grinding.
• Able to read blueprints and quality requirements.
• Able to communicate with staff and management positively.
• Able to lift up to 25 lbs and stand for long periods.
• Experience with AS9100, 5S, Lean, Six Sigma is ideal.

Responsibilities

• Completes set-ups with minimal supervision.
• Sets up parts to achieve first article acceptance.
• Performs in-process quality inspection and records.
• Identifies process improvements to reduce variation.
• Inputs data into visual management forms and reports to management.
• Continuously improves processes and eliminates waste.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
