Job summary

Department of Driver Services, located in Conyers, GA, seeks an experienced Info Tech Architect Sr. (Cloud Engineer) to design, implement, and manage a multi-cloud infrastructure (AWS and Azure) with a strong focus on security, governance, and scalability.

The role requires hands-on cloud expertise, collaboration with CIO and DevOps teams, and leadership to drive modernization and cost optimization. Four days in the office and one remote day per week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or related specialty and ten years of job-specific experience or equivalent
• Experience with multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and governance standards
• Strong leadership and communication with executive stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain scalable, highly available, secure cloud infrastructure across AWS, Azure, and GCP environments
• Develop and manage cloud networking components (VPCs, subnets, security groups, load balancers)
• Implement and manage cloud storage, compute, and database services with proper redundancy and disaster recovery
• Conduct cloud architecture reviews, cost optimization and infrastructure health assessments
• Develop and maintain IaC modules using Terraform, CloudFormation, and/or Azure Bicep
• Automate cloud provisioning and lifecycle management; enforce governance and tagging policies
• Create automation scripts using Python, Bash, and PowerShell for operations
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or AWS Code
• Support on-prem connectivity and hybrid networking
• Ensure security alignment with NIST 800-53 or CIS benchmarks
