Job summary

Greenfield Engineering, a Saalex Company, is seeking a Journeyman Software Developer to support DoD programs in Patuxent River, MD. You will design, develop, test, and maintain software applications with a focus on C++ and OO languages, working in an Agile team to deliver secure, scalable solutions.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in CS/Software Engineering and 3–10 years of experience, along with an Active Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field is required.
• 3–10 years of relevant software development experience.
• Experience with C++ is required.
• Experience working in an Agile environment (Scrum or similar).
• Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
• Active Secret security clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications using modern programming practices.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented C++ code and other OO languages.
• Participate in Agile processes, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Debug, troubleshoot, and fix defects to ensure reliability and performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and implement solutions.
• Support system enhancements by adding features and optimizing functionality.
• Contribute to testing efforts, including unit and integration tests.
• Assist with version control, build pipelines, and deployment activities.
