Kelly Services is seeking an entry-level Business Development Representative to join their team in Prospect, Connecticut. This 100% onsite role offers hands-on training and mentorship as you learn essential sales and business development skills.

You’ll identify and qualify new opportunities, research contacts, and maintain CRM records while building foundation for a career in sales for a precision manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• No prior sales experience required; ideal for those starting or changing careers.
• Curious about technical products and manufacturing; willing to learn precision machining fundamentals.
• Coachable, motivated, and receptive to feedback.
• Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage high lead volumes and follow-ups.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the professional first point of contact for new business inquiries from phone, email, web, and trade show leads.
• Qualify inbound and self-sourced leads by learning what prospects make, how components are used, and what requirements matter.
• Research and reach out to new contacts using LinkedIn Sales Navigator and other tools.
• Maintain a regular outreach cadence (phone, email, LinkedIn activity), following up on direct‑mail campaigns.
• Gather initial requirements (e.g., part type, material, tolerances, volume, timeline) to assist quoting.
• Learn to interpret engineering drawings at an introductory level—with support from the team.
• Keep prospect records, notes, and lead stages accurate and up-to-date in the CRM.
• Prepare clear, complete handoffs for opportunities ready for formal review.
• Provide timely pipeline updates in line with company reporting procedures.
• Collaborate with colleagues; escalation compliance or sensitive information to management.
