GovFirst is seeking a maintenance technician to support on-site operations in the Hampton Roads, VA area. The role involves maintaining movable bridges, equipment, and facilities, with an emphasis on safety and reliability.

The technician will assist with repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance, handling basic troubleshooting and tool use. A strong work ethic and ability to work independently or in a team are essential.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or GED.
• Basic knowledge of safety practices.
• Experience with hand tools and power tools.
• Ability to read instructions and follow procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist with maintenance and repair work for movable bridges and related infrastructure.
• Support the maintenance, inspection, and repair of industrial machinery, electrical systems, generators, plumbing systems, and other equipment.
• Perform basic troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and operational issues.
• Assist installation, maintenance, and repair personnel with equipment repairs, parts replacement, and maintenance activities.
• Furnish tools, materials, and supplies to maintenance personnel as needed.
• Perform general labor duties including painting, cleaning, debris removal, sweeping, shoveling, and site upkeep.
• Clean work areas, machinery, equipment, and tools to maintain safe and organized work environments.
• Hold materials, tools, and equipment for technicians during maintenance and repair activities.
• Perform preventive maintenance services on machinery, generators, and other equipment.
• Conduct daily and weekly equipment inspections and prepare inspection reports.
• Assist with custodial duties and lawn maintenance activities as required.
• Maintain compliance with all workplace safety procedures and requirements.
• Participate in emergency response and on-call assignments as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
