Job summary

Lake Michigan Credit Union (LMCU) offers a Business Intelligence Analyst Internship on-site in Grand Rapids, MI. The role provides hands-on experience designing analytics solutions, semantic models, and dashboards that empower data-driven decisions using Microsoft Fabric and Power BI.

Interns will partner with BI, Data Engineering, and Data Governance teams to deliver self-service analytics, ensure data quality, and contribute to enterprise reporting initiatives within a governance framework.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's in data-related field.
• GPA 3.0+ required.
• Proficiency in SQL for data querying, analysis, & validation.
• Experience with DAX/Power Query is a plus.
• Experience with Power BI, Fabric, Excel, and Git is a plus.
• Familiarity with Fabric, BI semantic models, or cloud analytics platforms is preferred.
• Knowledge of data visualization concepts.
• Understanding of data modeling and semantic layers.
• Knowledge of data governance and data quality is beneficial.
• Strong problem-solving and ability to derive insights from complex data.

Responsibilities

• Develop semantic models in Microsoft Fabric and Power BI for enterprise reporting.
• Create interactive dashboards and reports to reveal performance trends.
• Enable self-service analytics for business users.
• Ensure data quality and governance across reporting assets.
• Collaborate with BI, Data Engineering, and Data Governance teams.
• Explore innovations in Fabric, Power BI and analytics technologies.
