Job summary

General Motors Company is seeking a Battery Lab Test Systems Engineer to own the software backbone for multiple battery test labs in Warren, MI. You will manage lab PC images, deployment pipelines, and enterprise toolchains while ensuring reliable test operations across GBSL, WBCIC and RWC.

Qualifications

BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field required.
2–7 years of software engineering, DevOps, or backend systems experience.
Proficiency in at least one high-level language (C/C++, C#, Java, Python).
Experience with Windows-based test environments, enterprise tooling, and CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

Support testing PC builds and software configurations across GBSL/WBCIC/RWC.
Own lifecycle management for test systems, including version control and migrations.
Manage OS updates and software deployments with IT in coordinated fashion.
Maintain metrics pipelines in Influx/Grafana and related lab automation tools.
Document runbooks, change logs, and configuration baselines for traceability.
Collaborate with LSIE, CAT, and IT on infrastructure decisions affecting tests.
Plan complex software/environment changes, including migrations and upgrades.
Provide troubleshooting and escalation for software issues impacting test execution.
