Job summary

PG&E in Danville/San Ramon is seeking an ATS Career Electrical Engineer to perform electrical testing and engineering analysis in the field and at ATS labs.

The role covers grounding safety studies, arc-flash hazard analysis, underground cable testing, and safety investigations. You will lead field and lab testing, prepare technical reports, and interact with clients to define requirements. Living within PG&E's service territory is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum: Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 3 years of relevant experience.
• Desired: Master's degree or PE license.
• Experience in electrical testing and analysis is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical engineering analyses, including arcflash studies, failure investigations, and power system evaluations.
• Lead and execute field and laboratory testing; prepare technical reports, specifications, and recommendations.
• Support PPE and flame-resistant clothing evaluations related to electrical safety.
• Utilize LabVIEW and related tools for test data acquisition and analysis.
• Apply independent judgment to resolve complex technical issues with safety impact.
• Plan and lead projects including scope, schedule, and budget; support client proposals.
• Interface with clients to define requirements and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Provide technical expertise to stakeholders and represent PG&E in technical or industry forums as needed.
• Support development, evaluation, and improvement of testing methods.
