Job summary

Pacific Gas and Electric Company in San Ramon (Bay Area) is seeking an Engineering/Science contributor to support the Applied Technology Services team. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (mechanical, civil, electrical or related) and at least 3 years of related experience.
• Desirable: Programming in LabVIEW, Python, MATLAB; strong engineering research and testing concepts; good analytical and organizational skills; effective communication and teamwork; basic leadership and project management capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with peers to prepare technical reports and specifications and to identify, define, and solve problems.
• Continually identifies and escalates testing or process improvements.
• Participates in identifying innovations and cost-reduction potential of new and existing technologies.
• Independently performs routine engineering analysis and leads scope, schedule, budget, and resources planning; prepares cost and material estimates for client bids.
• Assists senior peers on complex tests and projects, supporting planning, budgeting, and testing.
• Completes multiple projects concurrently; prepares tests and studies; evaluates performance under simulated conditions; records results and makes recommendations.
• Develops test protocols, models, test technologies and analyzes data; may assist in policy development.
• Modifies prototypes, parts, assemblies, and systems to correct functionality.
• Begins to develop knowledge in other areas or deepen expertise in current area.
• Interacts with clients regarding project status and ensures client expectations are met.
