Job summary

Insight is seeking an Associate Engineer to join our Fort Worth, TX team onsite. You will perform installation, modification, repair, testing and servicing on systems and communications equipment, including hardware, software configuration, cabling, and networks, for both internal teammates and clients on site.

Key duties include repairing hardware, installing and testing system hardware at customer sites, and completing service documentation for billing and returns while seeking cost-effective

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year College or university or 3-4 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• LANs, WANs, Personal Computers, messaging and server software applications experience required.
• Cable plants, network services, email, bulletin boards, and CD-ROM libraries needed.
• Ability to automate tasks using basic scripting techniques required.

Responsibilities

• Performs necessary hardware and peripheral repairs. Identifies the problem and determines the most efficient and cost effective way to resolve it, keeping customer downtime to a minimum.
• Installs and tests system hardware at customer site, sets up hardware, tests functionality, and identifies hardware problems.
• Completes all required documentation involved in a service call for accurate billing, warranty parts handling, and return to vendor.
• Identifies system hardware problems and determines the most cost effective resolution.
