Focus People is seeking an experienced insurance accounting and financial regulatory professional for a direct-hire Assistant Director role with a state government insurance regulatory organization in Atlanta, GA. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or related field with relevant experience.
• Experience in insurance accounting, statutory reporting, regulatory accounting or financial analysis.
• Professional credentials such as CPA, CFE, AFE, CPCU, FLMI, APIR, PIR, SPIR are valued but not required.
• Experience leading teams of accountants or analysts.
• Familiarity with SAP, NAIC tools and regulatory reporting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and develop financial analysts and contractors responsible for insurance financial surveillance.
• Oversee analysis of insurer financial statements and regulatory filings.
• Evaluate insurer solvency, capital adequacy, profitability, liquidity and trends.
• Review audited reports, actuarial opinions, ORSA, and NAIC materials.
• Provide technical guidance on SAP and regulatory accounting.
• Coordinate with examination teams and regulators on monitoring.
• Communicate with insurance executives, auditors, regulators.
• Escalate concerns and determine regulatory actions.
