Job summary

Epsen Hillmer, a long-established Omaha-based manufacturer of custom labels, is seeking an Assistant Controller to support the Controller in financial reporting, month-end close, and internal controls. This onsite role requires collaboration across departments and a commitment to accuracy, compliance, and process improvement.

You should hold a Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance with at least three years of progressive accounting experience, including cost accounting and ERP systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum of three years of progressive accounting experience in roles such as Assistant Controller or similar.
• Experience with financial reporting, month-end close, GL accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and manufacturing cost accounting.
• ERP system experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Financial Reporting & Month-End Close: assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual close, journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger accuracy.
• Accounting Operations & Cost Accounting: oversee AP/AR, payroll reporting, and monitor inventory valuation and manufacturing cost accounting.
• Compliance, Internal Controls & Controller Support: maintain controls, assist auditors, and back up the Controller while improving processes.
